My garden 2012
I think this is a type of Bachelor's Button. I have a few in the front yard that look nice for the few weeks they flower. They look much better this year than last year.
One of the roses growing in my front yard. I think they are regular red floribundas like the type you can buy at Lowe's
Got this lovely Hibiscus from the local nursery and it is flourishing by the garage. I hope it makes it thru the winter.
The good ol' petunias I planted in pots to grace my front door
No clue! I'll find out one day, but the bushes look nice under the window
My crazy daughter woke up and decided she wanted to mess with my tomatoes. I purposely planted this breed ( called 100 ) to suck up the over dripping of the constantly running air conditioners during the summer months. It works great! It keeps the soil dry behind the unit so I don't have green gunk on the ground. This was taken early May 2012. The plant is well over 8 ft tall and constantly wanting to bend. I should've bought a trellis for it. I tried to count the amount of tomatoes growing, and it is easily over 200. We pick anywhere from 6-12 red tomatoes every other day from it.
My small backyard garden in April 2012. I have harvested several tomatoes and peppers since. I think this is my last year growing tomatoes. They are very thirsty plants and the caterpillars love to eat them so it's too high maintenance for me. I might grow one behind the A.C. again next summer but that's about it. I'm sticking to peppers and herbs! I have a few sweet basil that grew out of the ground from the flowers of the huge one I had last year.
I planted 9 roses on Memorial Day. There are about 5 species of rose along this wall. I hope they all make it! I can't wait to see their progress.
Got this "Mardi Gras" rose from Jackson & Perkins. This is what it looks like one month after I planted it from bare root form. Can't wait to see the blooms!
2 days after the one taken above!! Looking nice. Here's a close up below
